Erica’s long tenure in the community as an advocate for peace and reconciliation has made her a trusted, respected ambassador for the Cure Violence model, and for the work of the Crisis Management Network.

When we first went into that area, there was 17 people shot in a year, 4 people killed a year. We have gone up to 562 days where absolutely nobody was shot, and we’ve gone up to 4 years where nobody has been killed. It’s something that can be duplicated across this city and across the nation.

LIFE Camp provides youth and families that have been impacted by violence the valuable tools they need to stay in school and out of the criminal justice system. We provide programs and other holistic approaches to reinforce self-esteem and respect for life among one another and also connect and mobilize youth to prevent and heal from violence in New York City’s most underserved communities.
